It is probably the most basic of all the elements of art. <\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a philosophical standpoint, <strong>nature does not create lines<\/strong>. It is a human invention. <\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Think about this: Have you ever seen a perfect line in nature? No. You see edges, boundaries, and changes in color or texture. Artists use them to guide the viewer\u2019s eye toward the focal point of the artwork without having to draw an arrow, as I did in the image below of a city near a forest. Once they did that, I\u2019d show them that all the letters and marks were based on lines. And that\u2019s all you need to draw!
